[ARCHIVED] Coffee with a Cop

The Gallatin Police Department invites residents of Gallatin to join police officers for coffee and conversation on Wednesday, October 4 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Govan’s Coffee Café in Gallatin’s downtown square.

Police officials stress the meeting is intended to be casual, and there will not be a formal presentation. Coffee with a Cop is an opportunity for citizens and officers to discuss community issues as well as getting a chance to meet the men and women who protect and serve the City of Gallatin every day.

Chief Don Bandy said the meeting is part of their ongoing goal to break down barriers and establish relationships with residents who can contribute to the safety of their own neighborhoods. “During an emergency or emotional situation is not the time to discuss these types of issues,” said Bandy. “Coffee with a Cop gives the community the opportunity to ask questions, learn more about the department’s work in Gallatin’s neighborhoods and have a relaxed, one-on-one interaction.”

If you have questions or comments about Coffee with a Cop, call Lt. Bill Vahldiek or Sgt. Scottie King at 615-452-1313 or send an e-mail to http://bvahldiek@gallatinpd.org. Govans is located at 116 N Water Avenue in Gallatin’s Downtown Square. For directions visit http://www.govanscoffeehouse.com/.
