Gallatin Zoning Ordinance
The purpose of the Gallatin Zoning Ordinance is to promote and protect the public health, safety, morals, comfort, convenience, and general welfare of the people.
The purpose of the Sign Ordinance is to provide each sign user an opportunity for adequate identification while protecting the City against excessive advertising and clutter of signs by regulating the size, location, placement, manner, illumination source, and design quality under which signs may be displayed.
Developers who wish to create multiple lots or create new road right-of-way for access to their property are governed by the Subdivision Regulations. They set out the rules for development within the City. From design requirements to the platting process, these regulations contain everything you need to build a housing development, a shopping center or an industrial park. Subdivision Regulations are reviewed and approved under the Engineering Division.
The Engineering Division through our storm water program is responsible for storm water system planning and for review of storm water development plans for compliance with local, state and United States Federal Environment Protection Agency (EPA) requirements.
