Fitness Classes

When you want a heart-pumping, lean body workout, sign up for one of these classes. You are more likely to get a great workout and better results in a group setting. Our Group Fitness minimize the amount of choreography involved, so you can get right into the action without worrying about not being a regular.

Fees


Classes are free to full members. Classes are $4 for nonmembers except for the following:

Aqua Fitness


Water resistance helps improve muscular strength and endurance. This class will guide you to leverage water’s resistance through
various movements. Because water’s resistance is easily controlled by each participant’s speed and motions, this workout is suited for all ages and
fitness levels.

Basic Yoga


This class will lead you through the basics of yoga. You’ll become familiar with the poses while learning to create balance by linking breath with movement. As a result you’ll feel stretched, strengthened, toned and relaxed.

Body Sculpting


You’ll start with stretching and warm ups then advance into weight, band and exercise ball work stations. This class is easy to adjust based on your personal fitness level, so everyone can participate and reap the benefits.

Cardio Sculpt


This class will guide you through low to high intensity cardio exercises, resistance training and stretching. By the end of the session you will have worked all major and minor muscles groups for a total body workout that will leave you feeling accomplished and energetic.

Cycling / Spin


A simulated ride that will burn calories, build strength and improve fitness. The energetic music motivates each rider through a variety of speed and resistance challenges. Each class will take you on a creatively designed ride to maximize your fitness potential.

Gentle Stretch / Restorative Yoga


Melt away aches and pains and feel deeply rejuvenated as this class moves you into stillness. You'll experience a therapeutic yoga practice that combine breath, props and supported postures to invite the body and mind into a state of profound relaxation.


Morning Yoga


This is a faster and more challenging version of Basic Yoga. You can expect to build heat quickly with poses that are sequenced to give you the energy you need throughout your day.

Pilates


Pilates is a floor mat class for all age groups designed to strengthen your core while engaging all other muscles groups in the process. This class adds props like mats, sponge balls, exercise bands and stability balls to further tone your muscles, flatten your tummy and improve your flexibility, balance and posture.

Senior Watercise


The Civic Center pool offers year round aquatic programs for seniors. If you want to gain strength and flexibility, tone muscles and improve motor skills through a slow paced water workout, this class is for you.

Silver Sneakers Classic®


Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.


Silver Sneakers Splash®


Activate your aqua exercise urge for variety! Splash® offers lots of fun and shallow water moves to improve agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required, and a special Silver Sneaker® kickboard is used to develop strength, balance, and coordination.

Silver Sneakers Yoga®


Move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and a final
relaxation exercise will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

Stretch Release


An innovative 30 minute Stretch class that will help soothe tight muscles and release tension throughout the body. Whether you are looking to increase overall flexibility or looking to soothe sore muscles, this class will increase your flexibility and help you decompress. A stretching program incorporated into your routine can help prevent injury and improve performance in sports and daily tasks. Foam rollers will be used to help break up muscle fascia and help speed muscle recovery after tough workouts.

Strong 30

Stop counting the reps and start training to the beat. Strong 30tm combines body weight, muscle conditioning, cardio and plyometric training moves synced to original music that has been specifically designed to match every single move. In each class you’ll burn calories while toning arms, legs, abs and glutes. Strong 30 packs a challenging total body workout into 30 minutes to help you fit FITNESS into any schedule. Abs lab is now incorporated into Strong, Starting at 6 pm the focus will change to CORE. The last 10-15 minutes will be devoted to people looking to strengthen their Core.

Tai Chi


Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art using slow, fluid movements of the limbs and torso to move life force energy, and is a gentle way to combat stress and anxiety while increasing flexibility and balance.

Tone-N-Tightening (TNT)


If you want to increase your energy, gain strength, increase flexibility, tone your muscles and develop coordination, this class is for you. TNT incorporates free weights, steps, jump ropes and bands to deliver a whole-body workout.

Zumba Fitness


Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin Rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic workout system that will blow you away. It’s the best party around—and it’s good for you!

Zumba Gold


A fitness program that modifies the original Zumba fitness to deliver a Latin dance exercise for active older adults or those looking for a low-impact workout.
