Engineering is responsible for the design, planning and construction of City-initiated public transportation projects, and the review and inspection of all privately installed public transportation improvements. They also install, operate and maintain traffic signals.

Responsibilities Include
- Direction of activities for all public transportation construction within the City limits
- Plan review of all new construction and site inspection
- Planning, designing, and overseeing capital public works projects
- Maintaining construction records
- Issuing permits and inspecting work within the City Right-of-Way
