Extend Albert Gallatin Ave

from its current terminus at Dobbins Pk to SR-109. The project includes a separated grade interchange at SR-109, new bridge over East Camp Creek, widened bridge over CSX Rail, and signalized intersection at N Blythe Ave.
  • Expected total project costs including expenditures and executed contracts from 2018 for construction:  $37,000,000; Project funded by Nashville MPO STP funds (80% from current and past TIP) and local match (20% from 2007 and 2016 GO Bond); City currently has $6,000,000 available in the 2016 GO Bond.
  • City managed -- TDOT Local Programs, Gresham Smith & Partners contracted for design, various consultants for ROW, Smith Seckman Reid for CEI services, and Jones Bros, Inc for construction with a construction contract award of $27,440,488.46
  • Projected timeline: January 2019 - Begin Construction - project is estimated at a 30-month project

Airport Road Resurfacing / Widening (Gregory Dr to Hartsville Pk (SR-25)

   

Widen approximately 0.5 mile of Airport Rd to three lanes.
• Engineer's planning estimate for total project:  $500,000; Project funded 2016 GO Bond; $500,000
• City managed -- OHM contracted for Design.  Expected partial construction by City staff and individualized contractors with both job specific contracts and utilization of existing continuing contracts.

Projected timeline:
• July 2019 - In-house survey complete and design at 85%.

Big Station Camp Blvd Corridor Improvements

Widen referenced road in specific and strategic areas from SR-386 to SR-174.  Improve various intersections with laneage and signalization.
• Expected total projects costs:  $13,000,000; Corridor Study funded by $40,000 appropriation.  Construction and contribution for improvements from Gross Builders (Revere Apartments) and Green Trails (Carellton Subdivision); Negotiations are underway with several other developers
• City managed -- Neel-Schaffer contracted for study;

Expected to finalize the Big Station Camp Corridor Ordinance for adoption by City Council in 2020


N Blythe Ave Resurfacing and Widening

Commerce Way Reconstruction and Repaving


Reduce pavement width, repair failed pavement, and reconstruct storm as needed on  approximately 0.5 mile of Commerce Way in the Industrial Center.

Gallatin High School Backage Road


Construct approximately 1900 LF of new roadway along the back of properties fronting the south side of Nashville Pike between Maple St and Green Wave Dr.

• Project is funded for survey and design with $160,000 appropriation; Funding request in 2020-2021 Budget for $523,000
• City managed -- Neel-Schaffer contracted for design, expected contractor let for construction

West Gray St Improvements


Widen, resurface, add stormwater facilities, and construct sidewalks along approximately 800 LF of roadway of West Gray St.

Safe Routes to School Grant (Rucker Stewart Middle School - Hancock St)

Improve pedestrian student access to Rucker Stewart Middle School; construction of a signalized pedestrian crossing at SR-109 and sidewalk on Hancock St to Lock 4 Rd

"• Project is funded with approximately $476,000 Safe Routes to School Grant; this is mostly funded a 100% federal/state funded project, however, the City has a 80/20 financial obligation on $228,199 of the project; this $45,639 was appropriated in 2019.

Traffic Signal Timing and Coordination & ITS Grant

The traffic signal system is being examined and updated for optimization of the signal infrastructure.  The CMAQ grant is specifically for the US HWY 31E corridor.

Various Sidewalks Improvement Grant - Phase 1 (Browns Lane)

Construction of sidewalk in three areas in the City was revised to a single location.  Browns Ln from Starpoint Dr to Nashville Pk (SR-6).

South Westland Sidewalk

Construction of approximately 2500 LF of sidewalk, including stormwater improvements, on the East side of S Westland Ave from E Park Ave to E Bledsoe St.

"• Project is partially funded with $120,000 appropriation; Funding request in 2019-2020 Budget for $100,000 to finish construction
• City managed -- OHM Advisors contracted for design

VSCC Pedestrian Signalization and Sidewalk on Gap Blvd

This project will add pedestrian signalization to two existing traffic signals at Nashville Pk and Greensboro Dr and Grassland Chase Dr/Gap Blvd.  In addition, sidewalks will be added along Gap Blvd from the VSCC entrance to the traffic signal.

"• Project is funded with $61,000 appropriation with an additional approximate $120,000 coming from the Various Intersection Improvement funds
• City managed -- Contracted with KCI Technologies for design
• In-house construction of most of the project, utilizing existing contracts for contractor help

Anthony St to Center St Drainage

This project is planned to add a stormwater system from the intersection of Anthony St and Chambers St to the intersection of Carson St and Center St by way of Magnolia St and Demoss St.

• City managed -- executing contract with Neel-Schaffer for design; expected contractor let project

Town Creek Section 205

USACOE Study of alternatives for reducing flood risk within the East Camp Creek watershed - especially on Town Creek in the downtown area of Gallatin.

"• Project is funded through the Section 205 USACOE program at 50% federal vs 50% non-federal dollars for the Feasibility study; Total Feasibiltyt cost was $1,071,514; The Design and Implementation phase is split at 65% federal and 35% non-federal; Estimated total cost for Design and Implementation is $2,618,000; Appropriations to be made as project progresses
• USACOE managed
• Engineer's planning estimate for Design and Implementation:  GOG remaining contribution is estimated at $916,300; it is believed that real property interests and in-kind contributions will leave only a $130,900 cash contribution

This project is planned to add a stormwater system from 1115 Belvedere Dr injection well to Lakeshore Dr through Woodmont Dr.
