Economic Development Boards

The Gallatin EDA office works with three boards that provide vital planning and assistance for the city's manufacturing and business growth. These boards meet monthly, but it's a good idea to check with the EDA office to verify meeting dates.

PUBLIC NOTICE OF REGULARLY CALLED MEETINGS

To all interested persons: Notice is given that The Gallatin Economic Development Agency Board of Directors,  Industrial Development Board of the City of Gallatin, Tennessee, and the Health, Educational and Housing Facilities Board of the City of Gallatin will conduct electronic meetings until further notice, pursuant to Governor Bill Lee’s Executive Orders No. 16 and No. 23 pertaining to the COVID-19 outbreak, which says Boards shall meet electronically in order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of all citizens. Dates and times of meetings are listed further down on this page under the title of each Board.

Economic Development Agency Board of Directors (EDA)

 

Role


  • Works with staff to establish goals and strategic plans
  • Helps represent Gallatin EDA in the community
  • Approves the EDA office budgets
  • Promotes new business opportunities with consideration to current business and workforce climate
  • Supports existing industry

Meetings


  • Board members meet the second Friday of each month at 7:45 a.m. in the EDA offices on the 2nd floor of City Hall
  • Contact EDA to verify meeting in case it has been cancelled or rescheduled

Health, Educational, & Housing Facilities Board (HEHFB)


Role


  • Assists in the financing of health facilities, educational facilities, and housing facilities for low to moderate income families
  • Financing is through issuance of revenue bonds paid solely from revenues of the project
  • Gallatin taxpayers are never liable for repayment of the bonds

  • This 7-member board meets the second Wednesday of every month following the IDB meeting in the City Council Chambers on the 2nd Floor of City Hall.

Industrial
Development Board
(IDB)


Role


  • Leases and sells parcels in both Industrial Center Phases I & II
  • Maintains protective covenants for the Industrial Center
  • Has limited grant and bond authority
  • Pursues economic opportunities as outlined by state statute
